CHOOSE APPROPRIATE TAG-EX FOR YOUR LIFT

  1. All Tag-ex models operate in the same way
  2. All Tag-ex models do the same task
  3. Not all Tag-ex models are attached to the load in the same way.
  4. Tag-ex Tagline Extension Arms are attached to the load by welding, bolting, using Rachet straps, screw in, or using a scaffold clamp.
  5. All welding shall be conducted by competent person see attached welding instructions.
  6. All securing bolts shall be minimum High tensile grade 8.8 See attached bolting instructions
  7. Rachet straps shall be only used on Tag-ex models TB900MP, T900MP, T1200MP and TB1200MP.
    • Always use rachet straps in pairs. You shall use 2 rachet straps to attach Tag-ex to the load.
    • Always use 2500kg SWL rachet straps.
    • Place rachet straps through any 2 of the 3 pocket tynes on rear of the Tag-ex and wrap around appropriate section of the load.
    • Fully tighten both the rachet straps until the Tag-ex is secure and free from any side to side movement or up and down movement.
    • If there is any movement of the Tag-ex or slackness in the rachet straps, DO NOT PROCEDE WITH LIFT. Re-adjust rachet straps until full secure.
  8. When using Screw in Tag-ex brackets
    • Always fully screw in Tag-ex bracket until rear of bracket is in contact with load surface.
    • Always ensure the screw thread of the Tag-ex Bracket is compatible with the receiving thread of the load, and there is no cross threading or binding of the threads inhibiting the Tag-ex to be fully screwed on.
  9. Scaffold clamps shall only be used on Tag-ex models TS900, TS580, TSA900B and TSA900A
    • When Using Tag-ex models TS900 and TS580 you shall use 90degree scaffold couplers meeting AS/NZ 1576.2 – 2009 and fit to the base of the tag-ex frame on the tube section provided. The scaffold coupler will affix directly to the load at a location that is desirable to receive the scaffold couplers diameter dimensions of 58mm.
Such loads are scaffolds, stillages, generator frames etc.
    • The couplers will be tightened using a rachet, or spanner until secure.
    • The Tag-ex shall be attached in a vertical upright position.
  10. Choose a size Tag-ex that suits the condition and working environment. In cramped working conditions be aware that the Tag-ex are will fold upwards when in contact with stationary structures when descending load. Different length Arms range from 580mm – 1200mm. So ensure there is enough clearance around your load to accommodate the length arm. When load is ascending ensure adequate clearance around deployed Tag-ex arm. The operator must assess working environment before deploying Tag-ex Tagline Extension Arm.

SAFE OPERATION
